The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Male character dressed as a porter or janitor, wearing a ‘Cooks’ peaked cap, for Thomas Cook, the travel agents. The swagger stick being carried suggests a possible military connection, and this may be a camp concert party , pre-World War 1 period."
