A reproduction of a photograph of a watercolour painting of Michael Faraday (1791-1867) at work in his laboratory at the Royal Institution. Faraday was an English scientist who worked on electromagnetism and electrochemistry. The painter of the original is not certain but possibly attributed to a "Miss Harris."
