Biographical note
The names here seem to be pseudonyms, but none has been traced in the bibliographies. Girolamo Corti is an Italian form of the name of Geronimo Cortes of Valencia, and the work on Rosemary is one of the five treatises in his 'Phisonomia y varios secretos de naturaleza', first published in Madrid in 1598. It was reprinted several times. [Cf. Ferguson 'Bibliographical notes on Books of Secrets', Part IV, pp. 17, 18. Supplement III, pp. 37, 38. Also Thorndike's History of Magic and Experimental Science, Vol. VI, pp. 95, 96: 166-169: 428, 429].
