Top right, a man inflating a rubber ring (inscribed "L'intransigeant") to protect from the effect of haemorrhoids when sitting on the seat marked "Siège de Deputé". Below left a man seated on a close-stool marked "Révision de la Constitution", with bottles of morphine and silver nitrate close by. Bottom right a clergyman holding a candle marked "cierge camphre" and a cloth marked "la cocarde"
