About this work
Description
Susan Greenfield, Professor of Synaptic Pharmacology at Oxford University was awarded a CBE for increasing public awareness of science through her work with literature and television. Here she talks about her working class childhood, her dancer mother, how 'celebrity' has affected her work and reputation as a scientist, her marriage late in life, her enormous energy levels and her fear of dying before she's 'crammed enough experiences in.' Given her research into the human brain, Clare particularly quizzes her on her refusal to be 'introspective' as she claims to be much more interested in the generic human mind than particular people's foibles, including her own.
