Description
Human chromosomes highlighted by fluoresent probes
that bind to specific sequences of DNA. Centromere
specific probes have been used to determine the
break-points in a whole arm translocation between
chromosomes 11 (green cnetromeres) and 14 and 22
(red centromeres). This patient has inherited the
der(11), and is therefore trisomic for the whole
of 11p.
