About this work

Description

This public information film made by the COI was created to prepare members of the public for surviving a nuclear war. A leaflet was distributed with the same title (examples are in the Wellcome Library) but the video was initially suppressed. It later surfaced and was used in excerpts in the BBC drama 'Threads' which follows the fate of a group of people from Sheffield close to where a nuclear bomb hits. The DVD is a compilation of 18 short public messages about how to tackle each issue from creating a shelter and when and how to dispose of a dead body.
