About this work
Description
Matière médicale. Author's holograph MS. Illustrated with 7 folding coloured plates and one single sheet illustrating the assimilation, digestion, etc. of drugs and remedies: also by 8 full-page pen-drawings of fungi, and 340 pen-drawings of medicinal plants, four to a page. The original MS., with signature of Lecoq inside cover, and his library label 'MS 6'. This work is apparently unpublished. The script has been compared with an autograph letter, dated 1870, and it seems that this MS. was composed towards the end of the author's life.
