Description
19-year-old Stuart has Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a genetic disorder which only affects boys, most of whom will not live longer than their early 20's. The disorder causes the gradual disintegration of all the muscles leading slowly to complete paralysis in all areas of the body from movement, respiration to digestion. Stuart has been in full-time residential care since he was in his teens and is currently iin Trelawes College, a specialist unit for young people with severe disabilities where he has 5 close friends with DMD. But Stuart dreams of going to University to study Fine Art and the documentary follows him as he achieves this dream despite having major set-backs in his health along the way.
