Notes

"In July 2015, the Wellcome Trust organised an interdisciplinary workshop to examine the potential use of diagnostic tools to guide antibiotic use in a range of common clinical scenarios... Through discussions at the workshop, a typology of four specific diagnostic strategies were identified, each associated with distinct treatment and stewardship goals: avoiding unnecessary antibiotic use, optimising patient treatment and antibiotic use, identifying high-risk patients, and improving drug development" -- executive summary.
