About this work

Description

Photograph of a spinal cord from a cat. The spinal cord can be seen from where it exits the skull until the cauda equina (end of the spinal cord which resembles a horse's tail). This was revealed once the dorsal (or upper) sections of the vertebrae and epaxial (some of the back) muscles were removed. Some of the spinal nerves can be seen exiting the spinal cord.
