Description

Sur l'Homme. Incomplete extracts, or possibly notes of lectures from a Course on Natural History. The 2 ll. at the end of the main text are wrritten on a half folio printed sheet containing a notice of a forced sale of property at Valence on 12 May 1803. A note on p. 80 reads: 'On trouvera ci-après dans ce Cahier tous les articles servant à achever l'histoire de l'homme, c'est à dire ceux qui sont cités ci-dessus, et où l'on avoit renvoyé le lecteur au Dictionnaire de M. de Bomaré.' Produced in Paris.

Biographical note

Valmont de Bomaré was a French 18th cent. naturalist. He gave popular lectures at the École centrale de la rue St. Antoine, Paris from 1791 to 1806. His 'Dictionnaire raisonné d'Histoire naturelle' was first published in 1764, and there was a fifth Lyons edition in 1800.
