About this work

Description

Peter Evans investigates 'wellbeing' - positive thinking, happiness. In recent years, wellbeing has become an area of serious research for scientists because it is perhaps as important to public health as the understanding of more specific problems and diseases. Peter Evans meets a range of researchers exploring the effects of positive emotions on our performance, thinking skills and perceptive abilities - there is a potentially startling link between psychological wellbeing and how long someone lives. We also hear about a school-based learning programe which aims to help children identify and express their emotions, PATS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies).
